As It Is
Since purchasing the domain RobertCuenca.com some time ago, I have been thinking about how I should I use it and what kind of content would I like to post. For some time now a friend of mine has been encouraging me to write. I don’t think of myself as a writer per se. Writing could be more of a cathartic exercise. But maybe I have gift of gab and think of myself as legend, but only in my own mind. That being said with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek. Below is the first of I hope several vignettes.

In Defense of Ignorance...or Not.
This one is liberating. To become unshackled is most liberating.
The Cuenca Links are a work in progress.
In this spectacular image captured by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, the galaxy NGC 2799 (on the left) is seemingly being pulled into the center of the galaxy NGC 2798 (on the right). Galactic mergers can take place over several hundred million years. While one might think the merger of two galaxies would be catastrophic for the stellar systems within, the sheer amount of space between stars means that stellar collisions are unlikely and stars typically drift past each other.
These galaxies are about 85 to 90 million light years away. (One light year being around 6 trillion miles).
The noble surname
Cuenca is of Spanish descent and appears to be of toponymic origin, as it is derived from the place-name where the original bearer had lived or owned land. (A name derived for a place or region). The source of the surname
Cuenca is derived from the Latin word "concha" which means "valley surrounded by mountains."
